Applying for a Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card.

Both the Seniors Card and Seniors Business Discount Card will give the card holders discounts. Only Seniors Card holders receive public transport concessions and Seniors fares.

Eligibility:

You must be:

  • 60 years of age or over
  • Working less than 35 hours per week in paid employment, or fully retired
  • A permanent resident of Australia, residing in Victoria

Eligibility:

To apply for either Seniors Card or Seniors Business Discount Card, simply complete the online application form and pay the $29 processing fee. Make sure you have your green Medicare Card handy to complete your application.

All Victorians who are 60 years of age or over, a permanent resident of Australia, and residing in Victoria.

The purpose of the program is to encourage older people to keep active and engaged in the community, by providing incentives and making it more affordable to get out and about.

The Seniors Business Discount Card is available to Australian residents aged 60 years and over who permanently reside in Victoria, and work 35 hours or more per week.

Holders of this card can access discounts from over 4,000 participating businesses across Victoria. Most businesses offer a minimum of 10% discount on goods or services. The Seniors Business Discount Card does not provide public transport concessions.

Standard processing time for applications is three to four weeks from when we receive your application.

  • $29 for a Seniors Card.
  • $19 for a replacement card.

Please note that only Victorian Seniors Card holders are eligible for public transport concessions and Seniors fares.

All states and territories in Australia accept interstate Seniors Cards for concession travel. Most interstate businesses and participating businesses in New Zealand also accept the Victorian Seniors Card.

Interstate and New Zealand participating businesses are encouraged to extend their offers to Seniors Business Discount Card holders, however it is up to each individual business to decide what discounts they make available to Seniors Business Discount Card holders.

From 2020, the free off-peak travel vouchers are distributed annually by Public Transport Victoria. 

Seniors Business Discount Card holders are not eligible to receive free off-peak travel vouchers.
